I have heard about the sunset policy introduced by Inland Revenue Department of Indonesia to waive administrative penalties to “lazy” tax payers, couples of months back, until end of the year 2008. Another two weeks to go.
Since I have been away from the country in the last 14 years, I do not really know much about what’s going on there. I do not really maintain my identity there too. Coz’ I was lazy to take care of those administrative hassles.
Today, amids frustration I tried to register online via http://www.pajak.go.id, in the hope will receive a tax-payer ID, NPWP for short. As expected, the system was not really ready to accommodate users like myself. So many fields that I can’t fill in simply because I do not have the information. At the end I have to abandon the effort since there is no way I can complete it. My sms to query about the NPWP registration failed to deliver to the number specified in the website.
One surprise is that the registration page was unsecured. Its rather silly for such registration system to miss out the security aspect. It is an obvious negligence of the end users privacy and security.
After all, it is a reality of my beloved country. I can only hope and pray that the country will be bestowed with righteous people to take care of the country and the people too.
Only disbeliever in Allah fall into despair…
