Saving your money with smart driving
I am really sure everybody still remember when there was a time our petrol price was RM 2.70 per litre. During that time, rate of people asking Mr. Google about fuel efficient usage was termendously increasing, even compaq car has become their first choice for buying new car. With the current petrol price around RM 1.80 for RON95 and RM 2.05 for RON97, most of people seems to come back with our natural desire; big car, elegant, top-speed, make-up car and other accessories needed.
Well, for those whos still wanna have a smart driving, I have run through a test / experiment to prove that the method of driving with fuel efficient fully apply or not. By using my 7 year old Proton Wira 1.3 (1300 CC), taking distance from putrajaya to gombak, with the same route and same traffic condition, almost the same speed, the different is only with and without air-cond. the analysis as per following.
With air-contioning
car : proton wira
capacity : 1300 cc
distance : 110 km
route : putrajaya -> PLUS -> sungai besi -> jalan Istana -> jalan kuching -> seri gombak -> UIA
petrol cost : RM 14.75
traffic condition : jam like hell at sungai besi
Without air-conditioning
car : proton wira
capacity : 1300 cc
distance : 110 km ((return ticket)
route : putrajaya -> PLUS -> sungai besi -> jalan Istana -> jalan kuching -> seri gombak -> UIA
petrol cost : RM 11.90
traffic condition : jam like hell at sungai besi
Difference = RM 2.85
Conclusion
with the saving for 110 km is RM 2.85, and if let say for a year we have travel at 50 000 km, then the total saving is RM 1,295.00. See !!! even CIMB and public bank also cannot give that amount of dividend.

Ok, cost saving. But, are we really willing to get barbequed for the whole year just to save RM 1,295.00? and Why we buy a car with “cooling equipment” if we dont utilize it? and the most and foremost, our everyday life is in “cold” environment, staying in the less than 20 degree celcius building, and house with full of airconditioning. Hence, it is up to everybody whether want to practice it or not..heheheh

I like you deep study for save money with smart driving. I like the performance of Proton Wira.
You have calculated per year RM is 1,295.00. It is not bad. I think this great way of saving money.
Good observation. I like your idea.
