Assalamualaikum,
We (CFS library PJ) are having our 1st thematic exhibition for the opening calendar of 2009. The Cries of Palestine will be exhibited from 20th January until 20th February 2009. There are some library books (available in PJ library), articles regarding the issue, some reference materials and snapshots of devastation exhibited at the library lounge area (level 1). We hope this exhibition will benefit the CFS community and try to do our best to help our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine.

CFS library promotes information literacy (library skills) to all CFS students and lecturers. Library users are recommended to attend any library skills class offered or scheduled by the library or department.
What is Information Literacy?
Information literacy is defined as a set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate and use effectively the information. The Engineering department and CFS lIbrary (PJ) had a collaboration of having a library workshop to Engineering students in last semester (sem 1 2008/2009). The workshop had successfully done to 50 engineering students who will be going the Main Campus (Gombak).
The workshop mainly focused on information about resources available in the library, how to use those resources, library catalogue and its functions, library online database and searching information in the Internet. The session was handled in both, presentation and hands-on (practical) for better understanding. At the end of session, the students were given a short quiz to measure their understanding and how to use the skills taught in the workshop. For the second session, they had been given questions similar to Information Hunt type and they did it in groups. The first group to submit and all correct was given tokens from the library.
